Marie June Hendry

Marie H. Hendry, 86, made her transition peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her home in Hedwig Village with her husband of 66 years, Malcolm, at her side. She was born in Picher, Oklahoma, the only child of Theodore and Mary Huddleston. Marie June was the class beauty at her high school and was loved by all. She attended two colleges and obtained a degree in home economics, commerce and teaching. When she met Mal, she said to herself, "That's the one for me!", beginning a love affair of nearly seven decades. An encourager, supporter and peacemaker, Marie loved gardening, the beauty of nature, children and helping others. Every day was sunny and filled with unconditional love for all, especially her family. Marie's beloved family include her husband, Dr. C. Malcolm Hendry; her four children, Scott Hendry and spouse, Bernice; April Hunter and spouse, Larry; Shannon Drtil and spouse, Alex; Mark Hendry and spouse, Susie, as well as eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Marie never met a stranger and brought joy to all who knew her. She remains ever alive in our hearts. An intimate Celebration of Life will be held at her home on June 2 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association are suggested.
