Marillyn was a devoted lover of God, her family, her business, and helping those in need. She found joy in taking photographs of life’s moments, in watching her children grow and thrive, in hosting beautiful events, and in making sure everyone felt welcome. She was the quiet strength behind Rex, and together they founded and built Palletized Trucking. She played an integral role in building a legacy of warmth, service, and connection.
She was deeply involved in her church community as a member of First United Methodist Church in Downtown Houston and a proud member of the Adelphi Class. Marillyn supported countless charities in the Houston area including Neighbors in Action, Kickstart Kids, and Cycle Houston. She also served on the Board of the Texas Trucking Association (TXTA), supporting the industry alongside her husband Rex.
Marillyn is preceded in death by her daughter Mary, her son Ron, and her beloved husband Rex. She is survived by her son Mike, her daughter Sally, grandchildren Kolby, Jessica, and Brady as well as her great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind countless memories of generosity, hospitality, laughter, and love. Marillyn’s gift was making others feel seen, heard, and valued, and in that, her legacy lives on.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at First United Methodist Church, 1320 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Marillyn’s memory to the ministries of First United Methodist Church Downtown or to a charity of your choice that supports those in need.
May her life continue to inspire all who knew her, and may her memory remain a blessing.
