Mario Ortega Acosta

Mario graduated from Macarthur High School. He had a career in Management at Wal-Mart for over 15 years. He had a passion for cooking and crafting. Mario will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his partner, Elias Lopez; father, Ray Z. Acosta Sr.; and mother, Carmen O. Acosta.

Mario is survived by his brother, Ray Z. Acosta Jr.; sisters, Lilia Sanchez, Dorothy Nava, Andrea Acosta, and Lucinda Ramirez; nieces, Rayana Acosta, Malorie Medel, Miya Nava, and Magnolia Medel; nephews, Edgar Magaña, Xavier Acosta, Ryan Martinez, Luis Sanchez, Emanuel Sanchez, Reynaldo Composano, Alfredo Nava, Andrew Medel, Fabian Ramirez, and Felix Ramirez.

Serving as pallbearers are Ray Z. Acosta Jr., Andrew Medel, Timothy Hopkins, Demetrie Hayes, Xavier Acosta, Stephanie Avalos, Fabian Ramirez, and Alfredo Nava.

A visitation for Mario will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside service will occur Monday, May 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
