With great sadness but with a joyful heart, Marjorie Lucille “Marcille” Bruecher passed peacefully on to join her family in Heaven on Monday, the 20th of November 2017. She was born on the 15th of August 1923, in Houston, Texas to William Howlett “Bill” Bruecher and Marjorie Agnes Emmott Bruecher. A lifelong native Houstonian and cradle Episcopalian, Marcille dedicated her life to family and friends – she never met a stranger. She loved animals, travel, music, food, and especially people. Marcille was in the third graduating class at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School in 1940 and attended classes at the University of Houston. She was a dedicated bookkeeper and accountant, serving many friends and business associates as their tax preparer. Among her many social activities, Marcille was a member of Tri Kappa sorority consisting of women who organized their social club in the 40’s. Tri Kappa still exists today.
Marcille is preceded to Heaven by her parents; brothers William Howlett “Bill” Bruecher II and Lewis Emmott Bruecher; brother-in-law Thomas Mason Waldmann Sr.; sister-in-law Judith “Judy” Fuller Bruecher; nephews Bert Andrew Bruecher and Lee Edward Bruecher; and niece Lori Bruecher Haveman-Purcell. She is survived on Earth by her sister Catharine Ida Bruecher Waldmann; sister-in-law Patricia “Pat” Berthelsen Bruecher; nieces Catharine “Cathy” Waldmann Pearson and husband Allan of Haymarket, Virginia; Marcille “Marcy” Waldmann Collins and husband James “Jim” of Georgetown; Virginia ”Ginger’ Waldmann Dawson Hawthorne and husband Gary of Cypress; and Christi Diane Bruecher of Houston; nephews Thomas Mason “Tom” Waldmann, Jr. and wife Barbara of Houston; William Howlett “Howie” Bruecher III and wife Vickie of Austin; and many great- and great-great nieces, nephews and Godchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. The family is grateful for the care Marcille received from her long-time caregiver, Yvonne Heard; Treemont Skilled Nursing; Hospice Plus; her doctors and other caregivers.
A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 28th of November, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the adjacent grand foyer. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Tom Waldmann; Howie Bruecher; Jim Collins; Allan Pearson; Gary Hawthorne; Steve Harris of Houston; and Andy Udden of Houston.
