Martha was born on March 24, 1953, in Detroit, MI, and grew up in St. Clair Shores, MI. She graduated from Lakeview High School and went on to earn degrees in Library Science and Home Economics from Central Michigan University in 1974.
Upon graduation, Martha worked as a sewing instructor and substitute teacher in Michigan. In 1977, Martha moved to Houston, TX and worked for the Houston Independent School District and Houston Community College as a librarian for 3 years before embarking on a new career path with Sonat Exploration Co. She excelled in her 19-year career with Sonat as Records Manager and Supervisor. She was a very active member of the Houston Chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators, where she participated on and chaired numerous committees. She was also active in the American Library Association and the Special Libraries Association.
The center of Martha's world was her family. A loving wife and mother, her husband and children meant everything to her and she would do anything for them. Because of them, she felt her life was blessed. Martha believed in giving back and volunteered in numerous ways, including using her talents to knit blankets and caps for newborns through the Project Linus organization and for family and close friends. She was always active in her children’s schools, from volunteering in the PTA to serving up many orchestra and band meals. She was warm and kind and a friend to everyone she met. She will be missed by many.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, William Boor Sr and Betty Boor. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Arthur Camero, daughter Kathryn Camero, son Mark Camero (Varunya), brother William Boor Jr (Ann) of Mattituck, NY, sister Elizabeth Eby of Port St. Lucie, FL, nieces Wendy Faasse (Tom) of Alva, FL, and Julie Boor (Dan) of Brooklyn, NY, and 3 grandnieces.
