Martha Lawrence Strothers, 80, of Anahuac, Texas went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Martha was born in Galveston, Texas on July 15, 1940. She married the love of her life, Herman Strothers, on October 14, 1972 in Houston, Texas. For 48 years, they built and shared a beautiful life together.
Martha had a passion for fishing, gardening and cooking. She loved entertaining. She thoroughly enjoyed passing on her knowledge to others, especially, her grandchildren who she was affectionally known to as Mopsy.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother and father, her loving sister, Mary Lawrence Morris and brother Joe Lawrence.
She is survived by her loving husband, Herman, son James Strothers, daughter Mary Laura Kennedy (Brandon), grandchildren Anslie Justus (Austin), Justin Strothers, Camryn Walkley, Evelyn Kennedy, Zoë Kennedy and nieces and nephews.
A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, November 15 from 2-5 pm. Service will be held Monday, November 16 at 10:00 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Martha Strothers’ life at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas, 77077.
