Mary Helen Adame

Mary Helen Adame went to be with the Lord, Thursday March 24, 2016. Born November 30, 1943 in Houston, TX, Mary Helen faithfully and passionately served the church for many years. Her commitment to God was evident in her compassion for those in need, her undying love for her seven children and her stewardship to others. Mary Helen was married to Roy Adame Sr. on September 27, 1958. The two served in various ministries at Kinwood Baptist church over the years and after the loss of her husband, Mary Helen continued to do God’s work in her community and in her family. Of her countless accomplishments, Mary Helen was proud to be a church planter, a breast cancer-survivor, a missionary and above all else, the matriarch of her family. She enjoyed taking walks, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. She will be most remembered for her kind heart, delicious cooking and love for Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Adame Sr.; daughter, Linda Theresa Adame; and her granddaughter, Vanessa Sauceda. She is survived by her 6 children and their spouses: Roy Adame Jr.; Joe Adame and Edwin Chapa; Gloria and Khuzema Najmuddin; Steven Sr. and Linda Adame; Raymond Adame Sr. and Hilda Rivera; Reuben and Samantha Amador; her 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Roy Adame III and Cristal Dale; Romy Adame & William Wilson; Farrah Najmuddin & Brennan Lang; Estee Adame; Reuben Jr. & Leonesia Amador; Steven Jr. & Christina Adame; Mariah Najmuddin; Nora Garcia; Blake & Breana Amador; Raymond Adame Jr.; Angela Amador; her seven great-grandchildren: Steven Adame III; Purseis & Ahlahna Amador; Jax-Andrue & Julian-Mateo Amador; Antonio & Adrian Hernandez, as well as a host of other close relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a vigil service from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. A celebration of her life will be Tuesday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at Brookside Funeral home, burial following.
