Mary Judith Berry

Mary Judith "Judy" Payne Hicks passed away on February 12, 2024 at the age of 82 in Houston, TX, after having lived in Fort Worth, TX for the majority of her life. Judy was born in Denton, TX on January 23, 1942 to Marshall Evans (M.E.) Payne and Helen Geneva Neal. She was a proud graduate of Denton High School and attended North Texas State University, before marrying Spencer Hicks.

Daughter. Wife. Mother. Grammy. Pet lover. These are the words that best describe Judy and what she was most proud of during her life. Her favorite pastimes were shopping, lunching with friends, watching the soaps and reading.

Judy is survived by her children, Alan Hicks and his wife, Cindy; Julie Marshall and her husband, Steve; Brian Hicks; Her grandchildren, Jared Hicks, Macey Hicks, Connor Marshall and Kylie Marshall.

A small celebration of life will be held in Fort Worth, TX at a later date. Judy will be interred with her firstborn son, David Neal Hicks, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, TX.
