Mary Ellen Stapelfeldt Burdick, 68, was born in Sugar Land, TX November 28, 1942 and passed from this life peacefully, January 1, 2011, with her devoted husband Wesley at her side. Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, William and Viola Stapelfeldt and is survived by her husband, Wesley Burdick, brother Bill Stapelfeldt and sister Betty Stapelfeldt.
Mary Ellen was a self employed entrepreneur who, along with her husband, bought and sold antiques and fine jewelry. She was a devoted wife and homemaker whose interests included fishing and cooking. She lived life to the full, and will be remembered by many as a loving and giving wife and friend.
Services will be conducted at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 on Thursday, January 6th with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m., memorial service at 12:30 p.m. and interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made, in Mary Ellen’s honor, to Lindale Church, PO Box 16115, Houston, TX 77222.
