Ms. Mary Hernandez

Mary Hernandez, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Mary was born on March 7, 1937, and spent her early childhood at the DePelchin Faith Home and her early adulthood at St. Mary’s Orphanage in Galveston, Texas. Despite a challenging start, Mary lived a life full of love, grace, and service.

She was immensely proud of her 43-year career at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where her kindness and dedication touched countless lives. Mary had a special gift for helping others—something she shared freely and often. Whether through her work or in everyday life, she brought comfort, joy, and peace to those around her.

Mary found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Her favorite color was green—a reflection of her deep love for nature. Birds held a special place in her heart; watching them brought her peace and contentment.

A lifelong lover of music, Mary also enjoyed dancing, reading, and classic films. Her joy was infectious, and her warmth unforgettable.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
