She was born on October 2, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Samuel and Mary Jane Simcox.
Mary's beloved occupation was as a professional nurse, but also as a care giver to anyone in need.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by son Michael Garaghty and wife Annette, grandkids Nicole Heitman and husband Thomas and Katherine Garaghty; Son Steven Garaghty and wife Michelle, grandkids MacKenzie and Maxwell Garaghty, great-grandson Parker Garaghty-Thul; Son Anthony Hicks and wife Stephanie, Grandkids Brendon, Brittany and Brianne Hicks, Step-daughter Serena Hicks. She is also survived by a sister, three brothers, and a host of family member and friends.
A celebration of Mary's life will be Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00am, residing at Brookside Funeral Home with Deacon Peter presiding, at 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas 77095.
