June 29, 1924 – May 11, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her extraordinary life, we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Sarah Hipp, who was welcomed into God’s embrace on Mother’s Day, May 11th, 2025, at the age of 100. She passed gently in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love she so generously gave throughout her life.
Born on June 29, 1924, in Ralston, Oklahoma, Mary was the youngest of five siblings. Affectionately known as “Mama’s Baby”—a nickname given by her beloved mother, Fannie—she carried that name and tender spirit with her always.
Raised during the Great Depression, Mary’s strength and sense of purpose emerged early. She began working at a young age to help support her loved ones and proudly became the first among them to graduate high school—a milestone that reflected her determination and grace.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including afternoons at the cinema during an era of pillbox hats and polished gloves, and her dresses lovingly made by her sister, Dora. Ever a lady, Mary embodied elegance, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
A woman of deep faith, Mary lived her life with quiet conviction and an open heart. Her home was filled with beauty, warmth, and the gentle presence of love. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family was the center of her world, and her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she touched.
She now rejoins those she dearly loved who passed before her, including her cherished son, Harold Francis Dunn Jr., and her beloved husband, Quitman Hipp.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Hull, Deborah Clouse, and Mary Struba; her grandchildren, Lisa Marie Mayoza, Christopher Hull, James Clouse, Steven Struba, and Sarah Curtis; and her beautiful great-grandchildren, Evren Gener, Kai and Jack Clouse, and Tate and Tucker Curtis.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the grace she modeled so effortlessly. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
