Mary Rivas Ortiz 79, born on September 20, 1931, entered into rest on June 15, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents Demetrio and Virginia Rivas, husband, Julian Ortiz Sr., daughter, Estella Salinas, sister, Otilia (Tilley) Andrada. She is survived by daughter, Gloria Ortiz, sons; John Ortiz & wife Frances, Julian Ortiz, Jr. & wife Rose, sisters; Esther Moreno and Bertha Loera, 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 1-9 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 501 Tidwell Rd. Houston, Texas 77022. Interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
