Mary graduated from Harlingen High School and later received a degree in cosmetology. She was married to Juan Manuel Jacquez on February 25, 1972. Mary made her career, not only as a mother but also in education as an employee for the Aldine Independent School district as a paraprofessional for 25 years at Oleson Elementary. She was a proud member of the PTA and had a passion for spending time with her Grandchildren, traveling, learning new things, and pressing her luck at the casino.
Mary is survived by her husband of 46 years, Juan Manuel Jacquez; children Rebecca Wilson and her husband Bradley, Elizabeth Silva and her husband Jeffrey, Christina Jacquez, Victoria De La Cruz and her husband Raul and Hershey Jacquez, siblings; Rosalinda Marroquin and her husband Arturo, Arturo Ortiz, Juan Ortiz and his wife Marta, Armando Ortiz and his wife Maria Elena, Maricela Jacquez and her husband Antonio and Josefina DeLuna, grandchildren Christian Wilson, Gabriel Wilson, Madeline Wilson, Jeremy Silva, Delia De La Cruz, and Danika De La Cruz grandpets; Midnight, Maebry aka Maybelline, Ranger, Rosco and Chipper.
Mary was preceded in death by; parents Victor Serna Ortiz and Nicolasa Delgado Ortiz, and grandparents Maruo Ortiz and Praxedis Ortiz; Jose Maria Delgado and Eustolia Garcia.
A visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 25, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Magdalene Catholic Church, 527 S Houston Avenue, Humble, Texas 77338 with a committal service to follow at 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
Serving as pallbearers are Juan A. Serrato, Juan Ortiz Jr., Santiago M. Collins "Chago", Diego R. Ortiz, Victor R. Ortiz and Fredrick R. Ortiz.
