

Mary Hampton Trimm born August 2, 1920 in Caddo Texas died April 17, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Preceded in death by her father, Clifton Earl Hampton, mother, Ella Mae Sheffield, and step father Rufus H. Sheffield. Also proceeded in death by her husband of 36 years Comer Alfred Trimm. She is survived by her children; Stephen Trimm and wife Patti of Houston, Stan Trimm and daughter-in-law Paulina Trimm of Katy, Scott Trimm and wife Lisa of Austin, Marla First and son-in-law Dwayne First. She had 12 beautiful grandchildren; Austin, Tara, Dillon, Jared, Joshua, Jacob, Bekah, Cassie, Micah, April, Logan and Tyler. And she had two extraordinary companions, Bella and Avery.
Mary’s childhood was spent in the piney woods of Huntsville Texas. She attended Sam Houston State Teacher’s College where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics in 1941. After a brief teaching career, she went to work as a ticket agent for Braniff Airways during the war and she liked the business so well she became a stewardess for Chicago and Southern Airlines. Mary always loved meeting new people and traveling. Flying was just the type of work that offered both. During the time she was a stewardess she flew over 1,000,000 miles. After 3 ½ years up in the clouds, she went to work for Sohio Oil Company in Houston.
Returning to the air, Mary made the most important flight of her life on May 27th, 1951 when she flew to Pasadena, California to marry the love of her life Comer Alfred Trimm. Her early education in Home Economics was soon put to good use when she managed a busy home and raised four active children. Mary enjoyed being a devoted wife and mother. She gave endless hours serving her family and was very committed to raising her children.
The family would like to acknowledge Sandra Dawson and Margarita Alvarez , her devoted caregivers, for all the love they gave to their mother. They would also like to thank Brenda Bialas and the many friends and family who have loved and cared for Granny over the years .
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Stateroom at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 10:00 am in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
