Mary Catherine Wiegand

Spring, TX–Mary Catherine Wiegand, a devout Christian woman has gone to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday August 25, 2012. “Cathy” was the sixth of nine children, born in Kentucky on February 10, 1940 to Dewitt and Golda Roy. Cathy relocated to Houston in the early seventies to offer her young children what she believed in her heart to be a better life.

Cathy will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, confident, and determined woman who never met a stranger. Cathy was an outstanding mother to her children Theresa Carlton, Timothy Hatter and Douglas Wiegand; loving grandmother to Nick, Daniel, Lesley, Valerie and great grand-daughter, Alli.

Cathy and her beloved husband, Donald R. Wiegand, spent 32 happy years together until his death in November 2003. Her unwavering commitment and faithfulness to him was evident to everyone around her and they were not parted by death. Although the expiration of their time on Earth has come, we will always cherish their devotion to each other and we shall never forget their beautiful love story. We are infinitely grateful for the lessons their story of life taught each of us, which embodied faith, love, perseverance, respect for our country, community, and fellow man. Our hope, as a family, is to honor their life by exemplifying these principles and values in our daily lives in order to resume their heritage.

Cathy, you are a beautiful soul; we rejoice that you are in heaven with your eternal soul mate. May you rest in peace in His grace.
