Maury Alan Mendlowitz

Maury Alan Mendlowitz, 80, of Houston TX, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021. Maury was the eldest child of David and Kay Mendlowitz and grew up in Corpus Christi, TX. He attended WB Ray High School but transferred to the prep school, Chapel Hill Chauncey Hall School in Boston. He then attended Case Western Reserve University before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at the University of Houston. Maury worked for Union Texas Petroleum (later BP) and Lockheed and worked on projects such as development for the Apollo mission and sky-lab telemetry. Maury enjoyed traveling, photography, computers, fine dining, and sci-fi movies. Maury is survived by his niece, Elizabeth Mehlick and nephew-in-law Joseph P Mehlick along with 2 great-nephews and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Kay Mendlowitz, sister Sandra Handler, and brother-in-law James Handler.

Funeral arrangements will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm and burial will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
