Born to Karen Glover O’Neill and Timothy O’Neill on May 8, 1984 in Houston, Texas, she was affectionately known as Meg, Meghan O’Pill, Meglaham, Meggie Doodle, Bumblebee and later, Momma.
Her first word was Da-da and it showed. She was walking at eight months of age and never slowed down. She was a beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, wife, friend, advocate, volunteer, and mom to two beautiful children. She loved intently and with tenacity. She fought passionately and was determined to never lose an argument.
She had an incredible sense of humor and style. Known as our family’s Martha Stewart, there wasn’t anything she could not do – baking, cooking, sewing, knitting, painting, crafting, and creating. Meghan was a decorator at heart starting around the age of three when she would rearrange things to her mother’s dismay. Her talents were numerous. She loved to travel and experience cuisine from around the world. She was an animal rescuer and most of her family members and friends have adopted and loved pets thanks to her. Of course, there was a menagerie of cats and dogs, kittens and puppies, an occasional rabbit or possum, always needing a home. She particularly loved elephants, camels, and penguins – although she never had the chance to foster any.
Meghan was also sentimental to a fault and never wanted to part with anything from someone she loved. She was an avid collector of American Brilliant Cut Glass (which she became an expert in), Vaseline Glass, and Scissors of all sizes and types. If it was beautiful, weird, or unexpected, she wanted it.
Meghan attended Huggins Elementary in Fulshear; Simonton Christian Academy in Simonton and graduated from Faith West Academy in Katy. She attended Texas State University in San Marcos, TX studying Digital Fine Arts Photography.
Meghan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ann and Bob Glover and Charlene and Thomas E. O’Neill, Aunt Sharon Maybin Arceneaux, Uncles Paul Schlueter and James Zingleman, and several other family members. We know they welcomed her into heaven with open arms!
Meghan is survived by her partner in life, Caleb Gutierrez, daughter Amelia Kestra Gutierrez (“My Love”) and son, Christopher Cillian Gutierrez (“Cilli-bean”). She loved her kids with intensity and every fiber of her being. We only hope they know how incredibly loved they are!
Meghan is also survived by her parents, Karen and Tim O’Neill, brother, Philip Douglas O’Neill, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, especially Alyson Goldman Horak, Bianca Rodriguez-Caskey and Lucia Rodriguez-Caskey. Her beloved pets include Bella, Calico, Velvet, Lovey, Tuna, and Orbit and the late Plaid, Paisley, and Corduroy, October, and Felix.
We all love her. We all miss her. We are all looking forward to being with her again.
To honor her wishes, a Memorial Service and Reception will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Hyatt Regency Houston West, 13210 Katy Freeway, Houston TX 77079 (intersection of Eldridge Pkwy and the feeder road of Interstate 10). Family and friends will be invited to share their fond memories, comments, and thoughts of Meghan during this time. Special thanks to friend, Diana Ard for the beautiful video of Meghan and her life.
