Dale & Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss and want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you.  I remember your Mom and Charles visiting us when I was a child.  My most vivid memory is just the excitement and laughter when your Mom would walk in.  She was indeed a special person!
My parents are James Teel and Earlene.

Melba-I know you're looking down right now and if you can see me you're probably laughing about me and Charles pulling up all the old carpet in your house.  I never had so much fun in my life.  I still have the picture you took of me standing on top of the trash can full of carpet bits and Charles holding a broom.
What a crazy time for a college kid.
You were a great comfort to me during difficult times.  I will always remember you for it.

All of Jr's daughter's have the same memories of Melba. 
Melba educated 4 little girles from north texas on city life. She showed  the sites and history of the area that we would never know until we were grown.  Everyone of us were very excited when Dad would say we are going to Melba's and Uncle Charlies's 
We all new that ment FUN!!  Melba was never shy about showing her inner child to all of us girls.  
I am now 51 years old and hearing her name always puts a smile on my face. 

Donna is right we catch ourself sitting around the table remembering our child hood raised on a farm, then one of us would say, "YOU REMEMBER GOING TO SEE MELBA"  Then we all would start talking about the things we  did while visiting Melba.  Needless to say we would all be laughing and having fun. 

I count myself a very lucky person to have known our MELBA, our memories will live on forever as we have shared these with our children and grand children.  

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  I am quite sure she is keeping this going in heaven.

Melba was a one of a kind special Lady.
She always knew how to have so much fun. When  dad &  mom took us on vacations we always stayed at a family members home & visit. We always loved going to Melba & Charlie's. We had so much fun. They took us to Gavelston to Bishop Castle the sea wall and ate at a place called "The Flying Pizza" across from the seawall. Melba gave us some wonderful chilhood memories.
My dad is F.W. Teel Jr. and he always talked about Melba was his favorite cousin.

Your mom was full of life. Lots of fun, great sense of humor, and always the great storyteller. I remember coming to Houston as a child. We stayed at Uncle Buck's and Aunt Shorty's. The intercom between your mom's house and her parents. Aunt Shorty was  blind so Uncle  Buck cooked breakfast.
Your mom took us to Gavelston on one trip. We went to Bishop Castle, the Sea Wall, etc.... On the trip home Rita (my sister) needed to used the restroom so bad she was sweating. The traffic was so bad, your mom walked a couple of blocks with 
Rita in tow to  the closest gas station. Rita is now 47. We still laugh about this.... 
Your mom took us to one of the first aqtual "Malls" we had never seen. Commerce/Wolfe City, Texas still doesn't have one.  She got our pictures made with Santa. Then she paid for each of us to ride the little plastic pony in front of a store. When we finished she put another dime in and got on it with much animation.

Dale your mom, Melba, was one in a million. We all love her!

My father isFulton Teel, Jr. I'm Donna Teel Nicholson. Enjoy your memories. Your mom will live a long time in our memories and bring smiles to our faces!!

Melba you will be sorely missed.  I always loved listening to your wonderful stories about your childhood, our family and all the wonderful places you traveled to.  You were one of the best storytellers i have ever known.  Rest in Peace.  Love, Pam & Taylor Branstetter (LaPorte, Tx)
