She worked as an educator for the North Forest Independent School District, later Houston Independent School District for 43 years.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Mrs. Lewis was the beloved matriarch of her family. As a proud graduate of Texas Southern University with a degree in Education, Mrs. Lewis dedicated over 40 years of her life to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher in the North Forest Independent School District. Beyond the classroom, she was a pillar of faith and community. She was an active member of Lakewood Church for many years before joining Grace Church of Humble, where she remained a dedicated member. Her passions included sewing, gardening, and solving Sudoku puzzles—each a reflection of her creativity, love for beauty, and sharp intellect.
