Mike graduated from Sam Houston High School. He met Betty Ann Hutsen in Houston, and they were married on May 16, 1969. Mike had a successful career as a self-employed oil distributor for Mystik Oil for about 40 years. He loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed spoiling his wife, Betty Ann. Together, their passions included traveling, spending time on the water riding boats and flying in airplanes with their friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Pettus and Ida Mae Shaw, brother Daniel Grady Shaw and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Shaw of Montgomery, sister-in-law Karen Shaw of Conroe, niece Judy Howard and husband Steve of The Woodlands, niece Kathy Sharp and husband Paul of North Carolina, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
