Mildred Garrett, 77, of Houston went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 9, 2010. She was born January 21, 1933 in Calvert, TX to Johnnie and Dora Scott. Mildred is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 yrs Leroy Garrett Sr.; 1 brother. Mildred is survived by her loving children, Robert Sowders and wife Diane, Anthony Sowders and wife Gail, Perry Sowders, Brenda Garrett, Samantha Wilkerson and husband McKinley, Jacqueline Garrett; 1 sister Minnie Sandifer; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be 3:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home with visitation being 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Brookside Memorial Park.
