Mildred Catherine Drewa was born July 6, 1921 in Galveston, Texas, and died April 6, 2015, while a resident of Evergreen Cottage Memory Care Home in Katy, Texas. Her early years were spent in Houston attending Lamar High School with her twin sister Merle, and college art classes. In 1942, she married Oscar Hahn, of Houston, Texas, while he was serving in the U.S. Army. They lived in Weatherford and Tyler, Texas, during this time, but soon moved to Houston where they established their permanent home. During war time, she helped deliver flavorings for their small family business, while raising three children. Several years later, she worked in the service department of Royal Typewriter Company while raising their fourth child in the Sharpstown area. In 1972, Mildred moved with Oscar to Friendswood, Texas, where she became an avid, competitive, bridge player.
Mildred is survived by son, Oscar Hahn, Jr. and wife Nancy; son, Marcus Hahn; daughter Anna Dodson and husband Jim and daughter Victoria Vidaurri and husband David; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a beautiful, yet strong and independent woman who survived several transitions in love, life and in health. She was one to never complain and of particular importance to her was to dress well and look good each day.
