Ming-Fei Wang

Ming-Fei was the son of Li-Huan Wang and Shi Wang. He had two siblings, both of whom passed at a young age, leaving him as an only child. He was raised in a rural area until he was 12, when he moved to Beijing with his mother and grandmother by his father’s arrangement. After graduating from Chong-Shi High School, he met his wife Wen-Hwa Tsuei, and they married in 1941. Due to the Sino-Japanese War, he was forced into exile in Sichuan Province (about 1200 miles from Beijing). During exile, he attended Sichuan University. After the war, he returned to Beijing and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from China University in 1947.

In 1948, due to the civil war in China, he fled to Taiwan with his wife and two young daughters. He dedicated his career to education and became a high school geography teacher. He taught at Luo-Dong High School, Lan-Yang Girl’s High School, Dou-Liu High School, Fan-Shen High School, Yuan-Lin High School, and Kaohsiung High School. Throughout his 37-year career, he educated thousands of students and was known for his firm but fair way of teaching. He was recognized by the schools, city, and provincial education bureaus with many awards. Before his retirement in 1986, he was presented with the Medal of Eight Virtues: the highest award given by the Taiwan Province Department of Education.

Ming-Fei and Wen-Hwa immigrated to the United States in 1991 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. He lived in Sugar Land, Texas and enjoyed living near his big, happy family for the next 34 years of his life.

Those who knew Ming-Fei will remember him for his big heart, love of a good glass of scotch or whiskey, sharp memory, and impeccable geography knowledge. He remained a lifelong teacher and spent much of his spare time writing in countless notebooks about life and history lessons for his children and grandchildren. He loved Chinese opera and could sing along with any play that was showing each night. When he wasn’t writing or watching opera, Ming-Fei was very active in his children and grandchildren’s lives. He enjoyed picking up the grandchildren from school and cooking his famous zha jiang mian to share with his family.

When he could no longer drive, he would take his electric scooter to the nearby grocery stores or visit families.

Ming-Fei was a loving husband and father, loving grandfather, and doting great-grandfather. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Wen-Hwa, the youngest son, Sheng, and grandson, Danny. He is survived by his 6 children, daughters De-Wei, De-Shin, Fan, and Ying, and sons Jen and Yun. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

王鳴飛先生生於民國十年十月一日（農曆），遼寧省遼陽縣人，家中排行老二，其後因兄長與幼妹相繼早逝，遂成家中獨子。自幼在遼陽縣艾家糧房村成長，12 歲時奉父親之命隨奶奶及母親移居北平。他畢業於北平崇實中學，後經親支介紹與崔文華女士相識，於1941年成婚。他於1947 年畢業於北平中國大學經濟系。隔年因中國內亂，攜妻及二女、三女避居台灣。其後投身教育工作，先後任教於羅東中學，蘭陽女中，斗六中學，鳳山中學，員林中學和高雄中學，任職高中地理老師，於1986年退休。任教期間春風化雨，育才無數，尤其照顧需要幫助的學生，甚受歷屆學生愛載，曾多次受到教育當局表揚，榮獲獎項，退休前並榮獲台灣省教育廳八德奬章，這是最高榮耀，堪稱譽滿士林。退休後，他和妻子在1991年決定赴美與兒女團聚，享受天倫之樂.

他一生共有四女三男，孫輩十一位，曾孫輩十一位，可謂子孫滿堂，百年人瑞，福壽雙全，世間古來稀。

他一生剛介，秉性正直，尤其對金錢的豁達視為過往浮雲。他與朋友交往從不在財務上與人交惡，或許如此灑脫正是他長壽原因之一。

他晚年因小中風，開始不良於行，漸而失去行動能力，這幾年長期臥牀，終因器官衰竭，慟於2025年三月九日上午11 時溘然長逝，享年104歲。
