Misty was a wonderful child, who excelled in school and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude at University of Houston and started her teaching career. Misty married shortly after starting teaching and had 2 children, Ceili and Gillian, whom she adored. Misty had many interests such as cooking(she was a fabulous cook), reading voraciously and writing a couple of books. Misty also had extensively traveled the world since her Mother was in the travel industry. Misty had some difficulties after suffering a stroke in 2015. She became disabled and that affected her in many ways, especially her communication skills. However, her cat, Baxter didn't have to communicate with words. He loved her unconditionally and was her "very special" companion. Misty truly loved her family and friends. A very special "thanks" to her very good friends, Katherine Sheppard and Mike Kotila, who have helped her so much during the last 10 years.
She joins her daughter, Ceili Duryea, her sister, Brittany Watkins and her grandpa, Harry Krohn in Heaven. She has many people she leaves behind, Mother, Cindy Watkins, beloved son, Richie (Gillian) Duryea, nephew, Corbin Cavazos, her grandmothers, Sonja Krohn and Rose Mary Fisher, sister, Jessica Amaro, Aunts and Uncles, Tammy and Jim Walton, Neil and Valerie Krohn, Krista Krohn, Carolyn Daniel, Beverly Welch, Lonnie Malley and father, Pat Malley. Misty also has many beloved nieces and nephews and cousins, and of course, friends.
Misty was a beautiful, sweet soul that will be missed every day, but is a true blessing to Heaven.
We love you, Misty.
