I have met my aunt a total five times. The first time was in Guangzhou in 1988.  She and my grandmother visited us from HK and they stayed in the Oriental Hotel in Guangzhou. My grandmother and my three aunties loved to play mahjong every day after dim sum they played Mahjong until dinner time. The second and third time was in California in 1992 and 2002.  My aunt and uncle visited my family from Houston , they like to eat crab,  they cooked a steamed crab for us to eat. It tasted delicious. The fourth time was in 2016 when I took my parents to Houston to visit her and my uncle, my father was the sixth child in the family and my aunt was the eighth, they were very happy to see each other. The last time I saw my aunt was in November of 2021 at the memory care center. She remembered some of the past and we had a good chat. My aunt is a very enthusiastic, cheerful and straightforward woman. She says whatever is on her mind. She used to be a midwife, and I am also a nurse, my aunt is my predecessor and a role model to learn from. She went to the home that God has prepared for us, where there is no disease, no pain, no sorrow,  but only the joy of God being with her. one day in the future I will meet her in the heaven.

Mrs.Ho is a charming, quiet, and graceful lady.  Mimi & I knew each other when we were in high school, then we parted to the States and pursue our education and career.  I did not meet Mrs. Ho when I was young; fortunately, decades ago when the Ho Family visited San Diego, I had the honor to meet this charming lady.    From bits and pieces of stories when Mimi shared with me about her Mom. She is brave, strong, and a true believer in love. I adore her! She raised two outstanding high achievers, Edmond and Mimi; of whom I am so grateful and honored to be their friends.

Although I don't personally know Mrs Ho,  I feel close to her through my roommate and dear friend, her daughter Mimi.  Mimi used to share with me stories about her loving parents, and in particular,  their love story. 

While I am saddened by her passing, I take comfort that she had had a long and fruitful life. Knowing Mimi, Mrs Ho must have been a wonderful lady and mother who raised her daughter to be the beautiful person she is today. Thank you, Mrs Ho and may you rest in peace.

My girl,Ms.Ho she was a fiesty lil lady but it was something that drew me closer to her.she was caring,loving and knew exactly what she wanted or not wanted.she played,dominoes,uno,and sometime monopoly with me and the residents.such a modest lady she cared about the way our uniforms fit must be past the but…hahahahahh.im gonna miss u hun we had good times together…..rest in peace and give me nudge when im not doin rite.😊😊😊😊
