

Jack was baptized and became a member of Todd Springs Baptist Church under the ministry of Reverend C.D. Daniel.
At an early age Jack left home to seek work in and around his small hometown Center, Texas. A few years later he moved to Houston, Texas where he found gainful employment at Metallic Steel where he worked for many years. Later he became self employed as a contractor in carpentry, house renovations, and roofing. He proved to do excellent work, and with good work ethics.
Jack had six children, Anita Williams (Jackie), (Mother, Frankie Lee Wolfe), Ronnie Smith (Jerrie Smith), Sherri Love (Thurston), Cedric Lister (Alicia), Bridgett Lister (Deceased), (Mother, Irma Jean Lister was married to him for nineteen years), Erick (Mother Dolly).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Beulah Lister; former wife, Irma J. Rushing; daughter, Bridgett; sisters, Theoly Williams, Armentral Shephard, Altheria hall, Jerry Netherly, Gloria Fontenot; brothers, Archie, Arthur and Artis Lister.
Jack leaves to celebrate his homegoing his brother, Hollis Lister and sister, Shirley Whitman (Rick); daughters, Anita and Sherri; sons, Ronnie, Cedric and Erick; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
