Mrs. Leavada Griffin Tyler, known affectionately as “Pete” was born June 25, 1939 to the late Robert Griffin and Arizonia Whittaker. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. She loved school and math was her favorite subject. On August 9, 1957 she united in marriage to her high school sweet heart, Ike Tyler Jr. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her compassion and love for others was often expressed by helping a dear friend nurture and care for foster children. Mrs. Tyler was a faithful member of Bibleway Church of Holiness under the leadership of the Late Bishop J.L. Parker for almost 50 years. She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Ike Tyler, Mary Tyler, Mike (Ronica) Tyler, Virginia Tyler, Ada Tyler, Marilyn Tyler & Vickie Tyler, twenty-three grandchildren, twenty- two great grandchildren, three sisters and a host of neices and nephews and loving friend, Delilah Benson! Mrs. Tyler is preceded in death by her husband, Ike Tyler Jr. and son Danny Tyler.
