
Estella Lorine Booker was born May 18, 1922 in Mott, Texas to Accie and Amelia Booker. She was the sixth of thirteen children in her family. Estella accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She attended and graduated from Alex S. Terrell High School in Anderson, Texas on May 29, 1942 as Valedictorian of her class. Upon moving to Houston, Texas Estella united with Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend D. S. Bailey. In June 1963, she united with Great Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Emmitt B. Thompson who later founded the Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church where was a faithful member until her death. For 50 years, served as Sunday School and worked in the National Baptist Congress. She also was a member of the Adult Choir and was a very experienced baker for many years until she could not bake anymore. She was employed at The Rice Hotel, W. T. Grants, and as a private caregiver before her retirement. She was a member of the Christian Travelers Club of Houston, Texas where they traveled to many cities and states. Estella Lorine Booker peacefully took her eternal rest on April 11, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jessie, Andrew, Robert and Earnest; three sisters, Polly, Exzell and Eddie Mae; daughter, Leah Ellen Johnson; sons, Allie Roy and Lester James Booker; grandchildren, Angela R. Penrice, Keddrick Jeman Davenport and Accie Markellas Booker; great grandchildren Qynneshia Sade’ Booker and Jemari Mykel Davenport. She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters: Winnie D. Davenport (McKinley), Edith M. Adams (Dorsey Lee); one son: Carl Dl Booker (Mary) of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters: Arlelia McCullar and Abilene Eckford (John); two brothers: Accie Booker (Hazel) and Melvin R. Booker (Miko) of Valejo, California; grandchildren: Gayla Jackson (James), Grisha Booker, Africa, Roy Allen, Kimberly Booker, Gayle Rogers (Carl), Kimberly Penrice, Kenric Davenport, Tara and Jonathan Booker, Andre’ Marshall, Alethea Booker and Lester Allie Booker; great grandchildren: Jaquoya and James Jackson, Jr., Stephen and Nicholas, Jayden, Jaylyn, Kiera, Allen and Christian Booker, Tanisha Marshall (Brian), Litisha Walker (James), Ruben Cobb, Jr., Hadiyah, Kenny and J C Rogers, Brittney and Jasmine Johnson, Marquisha and LaMark Williams, Jr.; great great grandchildren: Tyrek, Debra, Marquis (Pooh), Janiyah and Xavier and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
