Dear Mama, today December 29th is the anniversary of your passing into Eternal life. It's hard to believe that it has been 12 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and ask for your help and guidance. With my health issues, I know that you are watching over me and you send me the grace and strength from God to face whatever comes my way. I think about all the good times we had together going places and shopping and eating out. Of course, I miss all the cards you would send me and signed "Love, Mama." The daily phone calls to see how everything is with each other. Everyone knows how important and special you were and still are to me. I bought yellow roses, your favorite, and I have them here in my house in your memory. I know Kaiser is with you. I prayed to Kaiser the other day and told him to pray for daddy and go tell maw maw that "we need to pray for daddy." No words can fully explain the void I feel but in faith I know you are in a better place enjoying the eternal place prepared for you, Mama. I love you, Mama. Please continue to watch over me and let me know that you are with me.

Happy birthday Mama. Every day I think about you. I hope you are watching over me because you are my guardian angel! Of course, life is not the same without our conversations and meals together and all the many things we would do together like going to Mass and going shopping. My life is different lately because of health issues but I hear you talking to me that everything is going to be okay Shug! Of course I observe today with placing yellow roses in your memory and having dinner at one of your favorite places. I took the day off from work because I know you would want us to do nice things to celebrate your birthday 🎂 We talk about you so often and how you taught us so many valuable lessons in life. We will always love you Mama. Thank you for the many sacrifices that you made for us and you did it all with faith and love. Happy birthday Mama and please continue to watch over us and protect us and intercede for us before the Lord. You remain in our hearts forever.

Mama, last week was your birthday and I can't believe that it has been almost eleven years since you left this world for the glorious life with the Lord.  In the midst of the challenges and difficulties I have in life, I remember your strong faith and steadfast encouragement. It was your selfless example and everything you taught me that gives me strength and courage to move forward.  I think about you every single day and remember all the good and happy times we had together. Life is certainly different now and I can hear you say to me "Sugar, don't worry about and just pray and God will take care of it".  I know that people may regard this as nonsense but you have been a living example of faith, hope and courage. I tell other people that you were a wonderful mother and you put your heart into everything you did and said. Please forgive me for the times I may have let you down although you would never mention those times or remind me of those times. I remember all of the clothes you liked and how beautiful you were. It brings a smile to my face when I see your beautiful photos.  I listen to alot of music and just about song reminds me of you and everything you did for me and all of our family.  I hope you are receiving and enjoying the reward of your countless goodness and unwavering faith. You have been an inspiration to me and my rock in life. I truly miss you and your daily call to check on me and to let me know that you are ready to go shopping and out to eat. I will always cherish those times and I hold you in my heart and mind every day. Of course, I remember the yellow roses and how beautiful you are like the rose. I love you, Mama. Today December 29th is the 10th anniversary of Mom's passing. It seems like yesterday! They say it gets better with time, but I wouldn't completely agree. In many ways, it is more difficult especially not having Mom here to get a daily phone call to hear her voice and see how I am doing. Or, having the holidays without her. Yes, she looks upon and sends us guidance from Heaven. Today I prepared a memorial for her with her favorite yellow roses and will go to see a performance about Patsy Cline who was one of Mom's favorite singers. Life is different in many ways but I know she is with me. My brother and I will have lunch in the next few days to remember Mom and reminence about her. Mom, please continue to rest in the peace of Christ with all of our loved ones. We love you and we miss you tremendously. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.  May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen. I love you Mom. Mark

Today, September 17, 2023 is Mom's birthday.  She would have been 93 years old.  It goes without saying, but I miss my Mom more than ever.  Her birthday today is observed with yellow roses and coconut cake and some of her favorite dishes.  Although today is her birthday, everyday is special to me because I always keep Mom in my mind and heart.  She is always remembered in my thoughts and prayers every single day.  To some, this may be hard to believe!   I can attest to the fact that when you lose someone very special like Mom was to me, you can't help but remember her and recall the many memories every day.  One of the things that I miss is the daily phone call from Mom to check on me and see how I am doing.  It wasn't so much about me that I thought about but about her because of the love and care that she had for me and all of her family.  If there was a situation going on with me, Mom would without hesitation say "don't worry about it Sugar and God will take care of it".  This may seem like a simple message but it speaks volumes about her faith and how much she shared her faith with those around her.   I recall how Mom would go to Mass almost every day if not every day until she was not able to do so.  Of course, I wish she was still here on earth to continue to be with her and enjoy the many things that we enjoyed doing together.  I know that she is in a better place with the Lord where she always believed she would be one day.  She is with the Lord and all of our loved ones.  She looks lovingly down upon us and gives us strength and grace from the Lord which is the consolation that we are to feel every day.  I certainly feel it!  Mom, I love you very much and continue to watch over me!  I went to see and will see again a performance about Patsy Cline.  I think about Mom every moment during the performance because Patsy's music and songs bring the best memories of Mom and how special she was to me.  God bless you Mom. I love you! Your son, Mark

Sept 17th, 2022 is Mom's 92nd birthday.  Not a day goes by where I do not think about Mom and the wonderful person she was and the great influence she was in my life and in the lives of others.  It will be 9 years since her passing into eternal life and I miss her tremendously.  Yes, she was my mom but she was so much more.  I always had a listening ear with Mom and I knew she always prayed for me.  I always feel her presence with me and it gives me strength to know that she is with me and intercedes for me to God.  Like always, I will observe her birthday by going to Mass and setting up a memorial at home with a slice of coconut cake and with yellow roses which were her favorite flower. I will have a wonderful dinner in her memory as she always liked to go out to eat and especially on her birthday.  This day will be a special remembrance of how special of a person she was and always deserving of my love and attention.  Of course, I still wish that she was still here on earth for us to sit down and talk and for Mom to give  me that "motherly advice" that only she could give and she did it will a big and grateful heart.  Simply said (or "nuff said" as Mom would say so often) I miss you Mom and I love you dearly!  Happy birthday Mom and I hope you are celebrating in Heaven!  Thank you for all you have done for me and for being the great Mom that you are!  Continue to be with me, Mom, and give me strength!

Mom, today we observe the day of your passing eight years ago today.  For me, I ask God's blessings upon you and to reward you for your life of graciousness and generosity.  Greg and I had lunch today at Cracker Barrel which was one of your favorite places.  I also adorn a memorial with beautiful yellow roses that have opened up since yesterday.  Mom, I light candles for you and ask for your intercession into my life that you give me the grace, strength and blessing to continue to live my life in these trying times.  I am ever so thankful that you are in Heaven looking upon us with love.  Uncle James, your final brother, now joins you in the glory of eternal life for a happy and blessed reunion.  Greg and I often talk about the memory stories we have of you and our growing up.  Even though we may not have said it very often, we appreciate more than we can say for the tremendous example that you gave to us and your famous sayings- "how much of this did you bring on yourself" or "is it something you want or something you need" or "nuff said."  We know the wisdom that you taught us about life and I share with others that you taught me to be a good guy and son as well as a real gentleman.  Hopefully I live this way in tribute to you for the many lessons you sought to teach us about life.  You were always so trusting of other people.  We are still in the midst of a pandemic and I thank God that you are enjoying the life of Heaven and not having to deal with all the worries and difficulties that this pandemic has brought to us and so many across the world.  Mom, I know that I can speak for Greg as well as myself and say that we face difficult moments in our lives and we pray for you to guide us and give us strength.  Rest in peace, dear Mom, and may the Lord reward you for the goodness of your many deeds and for the Christian person that you were.  I love you Mom and I will listen to Middle Aged Crazy by Jerry Lee Lewis as I think about you and I dancing to this song.  

Today is Friday, Sept 17, 2021 and it is Mom's 91st birthday.  I took off from work today in order to remember her and the special things about her.  Of course, I bought yellow roses and coconut cake which were Mom's favorites.  I went to dinner this evening at a popular Italian restaurant known for its salad and breadsticks among other things like peach flavored iced tea.  It is hard to believe that it has been almost 8 years since Mom passed and it seems only like yesterday.  I miss her more now than ever.  With everything we have encountered in the world with the pandemic and hurricanes, the silver lining is thank goodness she was/is not here to cope with all of it.  I was telling someone today that she was truly prepared and she was a woman of faith.  I not only say this because she was a wonderful mother but she was an example to so many people.  I tell people that I am a good guy and a real gentleman because of her and all that she taught me about life.  I have a new puppy and her name is Bella Anne.  Mom would have loved her because she is a beautiful dog.  Mom loved Romeo, Nikki and Kaiser who are now with her in the glory of Heaven.  Because Mom was so prepared, it makes me think and want to be prepared also.  One thing is for sure is that all of the dear family members and friends are passing away as time goes on.  It is somewhat disturbing to face and surely the loneliness that they are no longer around on earth.  I can truly say that as time goes on that I truly focus on the important things of life and I do the best I can.  Happy birthday, dear Mom.  I love you and you are and will always remain in my heart.  Please continue to look down upon me and guide me every day.  I need you more than ever. Today, Sept 17th, is Mom's 86th birthday.  Oh, I miss her so much!  I recall all the many things we would do and she would like to celebrate her birthday.  I did go to eat out at some of the places she liked to go to and I bought some yellow roses in her memory.  Yellow roses were her favorite.  I can actually say that Mom herself was a yellow rose- a peaceful person.  Tomorrow, Mass will be celebrated to remember her.  Mom, all I can say is that I love you so much and I miss you so very much to this very.  I still cry and listen to some of her favorite music.  Mom, I hope you are at peace in the eternal kingdom. Today is 2 years ago that my sweet mother passed from this world to her eternal reward.  Mass was offered today in her memory.  Without a doubt, I feel her presence with me and know that Mom is looking down upon me and all of us.  It seems like yesterday that she passed and how great it would be to still have her with us.  But, her suffering is no more and she would remark that she was not suppose to live past 80! LOL!  Holidays and each day is different not having Mom around.  When I have those moments and become teary eyed, I can hear Mom say "Sugar, don't cry!" and I cry more! Mom, I love you and I bought your favorite candy today to have and remind me of you! I love you and I miss you more than anyone will ever know or can imagine! Rest in peace sweet Mom. I love you!  Your Son Mark

Today is Thanksgiving day 2015. I miss Mom so very much. I  thought things would be easier for me by now. Yes I feel her presence with me so much but the void I feel is greater and deeper. It was 1 yr ago today (Jan 4, 2014) that we had Mom's funeral and took her to her resting place.  Although a day of sorrow, it was a day to be consoled in the fact that Mom was finally at rest and with the Lord in peace.  Yes, this day seemed like yesterday and the days since have not been the same.  Oh, it is true, that we are called to carry on with our day to day lives, but there is that emptiness that has been created that only the Lord can fill.  I do pray to Mom that she continue to watch over me with love as I miss her so much. As a friend of mine said the other day- you never get over the loss but rather you learn to live with it as time goes on.  There are ever so many reminders of Mom but I realize that I cannot become still in time.  Mom would not want this to happen but rather for me to continue on living and smiling in the best way that I know how (as she did!!).  Mom I love you and continue to be with me today and in the days ahead.  Rest in peace!

Dear Mama, it has been 1 year ago today that you left this world. My life has not been the same without you but I find consolation in the thought that you are with The Lord and have full joy and peace in heaven for all eternity. The holidays do not have the special meaning that they once had since you are not with us to laugh and enjoy the many good things that we shared together. Greg said that he felt empty when he knew that you were not here for him to call you and wish you a Merry Christmas. I asked you Mom before you left this world if you would watch over me and pray for me and you smiled and said yes. My heart does find peace and comfort in the fact that you are watching over me always. Some days are heavier to face than others since you are not here. I know you would want us to carry on with our lives and we are trying to do so but not always easy. I pray for you always and have flowers placed at the altar in your dear memory. They say it gets easier but I haven't found that to be true yet. I am taking it one day at a time as you so often shared. People like Janice and Nikki say how much it was a privilege to be able to care for someone special like you. You were and are a wonderful people and your example will always be pressed in my heart and soul. I try to follow your example mom. May you continue to rest in peace and may The Lord reward you for all your labors and goodness.  I do not just think about you only on today but every day and ask for your continued love and care. I love you so much Mom.

Yesterday was Mothers' Day.  Oh my goodness, not the same without my sweet mother being here.  My consolation is that she looks down from above and smiles and says "It's ok!"  I took the opportunity to visit her resting place both Saturday and Sunday.  My prayer was that she is experiencing peace and joy with the Lord and those who have gone before.  Also, that she continue to look over me and that I feel her presence with me. I placed flowers and burned incense and lit candles at the grave.  I literally kissed the ground of her grave because it is truly holy ground.  Mom, I love you and hope you had the best Mothers Day.  Please be with me always.  Love, Mark

Today is Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.  This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad! Alleluia!  It has been nearly 4 months since Mom's passing.  My prayer today is that Mom is enjoying resurrected life with the Lord!  For me, I continue to pray for consolation and peace as I mourn the loss of such a dear Mother. Yes, I continue to experience grief as I heard recently- we do not get over grief but rather we go through grief.  Also, today is a significant day because on this day in 1975 my dear brother Mike was struck by a drunk driver and his life was changed forever.  However, God allowed Mike to continue in life until Fathers Day 2004 when Mike's life was taken at the hands of murderers.  Yes, how sad but true.  I gain consolation in the hope and reality that both Mom and Mike are now looking over me.  How wonderful of a thought that gives me some hope and consolation since a void has been created in my life and they are no longer with us.  RIP Mom and Mike!  I love you both.  Mark

Today is Good Friday, April 18, 2014.  Holy Week was such a special time for Mom as she liked to go to church for the various Holy Week services.  As I attend Holy Week services this year, things are obviously a bit different and difficult as Mom is not with me to attend.  I hope and pray that she is with the Lord which gives my going to these services a new meaning.  RIP Mom.  I love you!  Mark

Dear Friends, today is Valentine's Day 2014.  When we think of Valentine's Day, we obviously think of love.  I can't help but think of the love that sweet Mom gave to her family and to so many others.  She was undoubtedly one person who knew how to show love by word and example.  I am grateful to Mom for all the love she showed me in my life because I really don't know where I would be without it otherwise.  Today is 1 year ago that Mom was discharged from the hospital.  No coincidence that Mom went home from the hospital on Valentine's day.  Happy Feast Day Mom!  Thanks for showing love!  I have, I do and I will always love you! RIP.  Love, Mark

Dear Friends, today would have been Mom and Dad's 64th Wedding anniversary.  I recall, even now, how much of a devoted mother and wife Mom was all of her life.  Even though Dad had passed away in Aug of 2000, Mom continued to celebrate her anniversary each year.  Today, we commemorate both Mom and Dad on this day.  May they both rest in peace.

Dear Friends, today is one month ago that our dear mother and friend passed from this life to life eternal.  In one way, it seems like only yesterday.  The days have been quiet and long not having sweet Mom with us.  Yes, I know that she is in a "better place" but I continue to pray for the strength needed to move forward.  We appreciate all the prayers and kindness shown to us in these days since Mom's passing.  It has given us strength and hope.  May the Lord bless you and bless us with his peace and comforting presence.  May you rest in peace, dear and sweet Mom.

My dear friend, my heart goes out to you and your family. I remember so fondly how Ms. Toni opened her heart and home to all who came to visit and will never forget her kind and warm spirit.
