On May 22, 2024, Myra P. Baughn passed away at the age of 81. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister. Born in San Angelo Texas on March 25, 1943 to Lt. Col. Myer T. and Sue Phillips, she spent most of her childhood in Texas, Alaska and Okinawa before the family settled in Chattanooga, TN.
Myra met the love of her life, Robert E. Baughn, in the summer of ’65 while visiting the University of Tennessee Memphis, where she was to attend graduate school. They were married six months later and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
Myra was a photography enthusiast and passed her love of photography on to her eldest daughter. She was active in the church, serving as a lay reader and Sunday School teacher at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Houston. And she was a caring pet “mom” throughout her entire life.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, her sister, Claire, two daughters, Heather Lynne and Brenna, Granddaughter Bailey and Great Grandson, Bowie.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten as she will remain in our hearts forever.
