Myrl Edward Johnson Jr.

Myrl E. Johnson, Jr,, 60, lifelong resident of Spring, passed away on August 26, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Kuehnle Johnson. Survivors include wife Cecilia Johnson; sons, Chad Johnson, Chris Johnson & wife Amanda; granddaughter, Annabelle Johnson; father, M.E. Johnson, Sr.; sister & brother-in-law Sheryl & Jim Laminack; brother & sister-in-law, Clint & Laura Johnson; in-laws B.R. & Betty Hooker; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. After high school, Myrl proudly served in the United States Air Force, later graduated from Sam Houston State, and began a 34-year career in education. In May 2006, Myrl retired from Klein ISD. He enjoyed life one day at a time, and his generosity to those in need had no limits.

The visitation with family will be Tuesday, August 29, from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, TX 77068, 281-397-0800. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is choosing to give a Klein ISD Vocational Scholarship in Myrl’s name.
