

She was born on November 10, 1947, in Nederland Texas. She was the youngest of five children born to Albert and Dorothy Rienstra. She graduated from Nederland.High in 1966. Her high school activities included playing clarinet, serving as majorette in the Nederland High School Band, and belonging to the drama program. She was voted Wittiest Girl in her class her senior year. Anne attended Lamar University for one year before transferring to the University of Texas in Austin where she earned a BS degree in Elementary Education in 1970.
Anne taught for seven years in the Houston Independent School District before earning a masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Houston. She served as a school counselor in HISD for four years before transferring and finishing her 40 year career in the Fort Bend ISD. Though Anne had no children of her own, she nurtured and impacted the lives of so many children throughout her education career.
In 1995, she married Mike Fosher, her husband and soulmate for the next 25 years.
Anne had an incredible sense of humor, a warm friendly presence, and a quick wit (pun queen extraordinaire). She was interested in people and always wanted to learn a person’s name. She had an uncanny ability to remember birthdays, not only of family members but also many friends, acquaintances, and even celebrities. Anne has always had a love of animals and surrounded herself with pets who became her family.
Anne is survived by her husband Mike; her sisters Rita Premo (husband Dan) of Maryland and Doris Williams (husband Joe)of Farmers Branch, Texas; sisters-in -law Marcia Hamilton Rienstra of Katy, Texas; Bennie Walker Rienstra of Fort Worth, Texas; Karen Burns of Missouri City, Texas; her godson Read Ebersole of San Antonio, Texas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Dorothy Rienstra and her brothers Dr. Richard Byron Rienstra and Jay Roger Rienstra.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home located at 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, Texas 77077 (Forestparkwestheimer.com) with a Reception to follow at the funeral home.
