Myrtle Estelle Turner Mayfield, loving mother and grandmother, went to eternal rest on October 3, 2013, at the age of 96. She was born on September 23, 1917 in Splendora, TX to WT and Margaret Turner (Pritchett). She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde L. Mayfield and granddaughter Terry Russo as well as her parents, brother, and three sisters. Myrtle and her husband Clyde raised their three children in Webster, TX on a little farm right off the Gulf Freeway. Her grandchildren all have wonderful memories of collecting chicken eggs, baking pies and her famous rolls, and every Christmas making the most amazing gingerbread houses and Christmas cookies. Myrtle is survived by her three children. Carol Myers and husband Kenny, William Thomas Mayfield and wife Melba, and Kenneth Mayfield and wife Suzy. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend Nadine Cousimano. Special appreciation to Melba for her extraordinary care in her later years.
