In 1961, Nancy married the love of her life, Carl Cox, and together they raised three daughters; Julie, Nancy, and Cheryl. She was a devoted wife, mother, big sister, Aunt Nancy, and Nana. She was the epitome of a homemaker and caregiver, sharing her time selflessly and offering her sweetest treasure of all—a deep, abiding love for others.
The house she and Carl built was more than just walls and a roof. It was a common gathering place for family, cousins, and friends. As the eldest of four sisters, Nancy learned to cook early and one of her greatest joys was preparing meals for her family. She always prepared more than enough and welcomed anyone visiting or stopping by a place at the table.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl of 64 years and daughter Nancy Margaret Shoemaker. She is survived by daughters, Julie Duke (husband, Mike) and Cheryl Guenther (husband, Paul); her grandchildren Carlos Guzman, Kevin Duke (wife Brenna), Jordan Guenther (wife, Rachael), Lauren Maywald (husband, Will) and Emily Gentry (husband, Brandon); her great-grandchildren Emmett and Hannah Duke, Noah and Nixon Guenther, Atlas, Presley, and Lincoln Gentry.
Her spirit will live through the stories we share, her cherished laughter, and the love that binds our family together. She will be dearly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
