Neil A. Cruse

Neil Cruse, 93, passed away on June 17th, 2025, at his home of 43 years in Houston, Texas. Neil was born in Doyon, North Dakota on January 20th, 1932.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Catherine (Yager) Cruse, brother Bob Cruse, sister Betty Cruse and two sons Kirby Ross Cruse and Kent A. Cruse.

Neil spent his life working in the trucking industry, both in the U.S. Army and in commercial transportation. He took ownership of his work where he proudly and professionally served his customers, many who became dear friends. He also spent time serving his country in the United States Army.

Neil’s warm smile and cheerful disposition found him surrounded by friends, neighbors and loved ones. His pleasure was spending time with them, taking care of his home, listening (and sometimes dancing) to country music, and traveling.

Neil’s collective memorabilia truly reflected his love of cars and trucks, country music, his love of Texas and North Dakota, and special times spent with friends.

Neil is survived by his grandson Jacob Cruse, two nieces Vickie Heit and Deborah (Kyle) Zimmerman, and two nephews Scott (Gail) Cruse and Kevin Cruse.

A memorial service for Neil will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 27th, 2025 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7010 Chetwood Dr. Houston, Texas 77081.
