

Nettie, a 1934 graduate of Katy High School, worked at Sanitary Dairy and Humble Oil in Houston after attending Daughman Business College. She joined First Methodist Houston in 1943 where she met her husband, Harry M. Thomson. They were married in 1949 and became members of the Adelphi Sunday School Class.
Nettie enjoyed family, friends, serving United Methodist Women at Clarewood House, and playing bridge.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, Nettie was preceded in death by brother Bill Grady and sister Effie Richards. She is survived by her son Harry M. Thomson, Jr., and his wife Vicki; son William M. Thomson and his wife Laura; and grandchildren Andrew, Grant, Blake, Sydney, Ethan and Madeline. Survivors include sisters Hazel Treloar and Maxine Underwood, brother-in-law Alex Thomson, Jr., and his wife Bette Thomson and sister-in-law Roma Grady as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, on Tuesday, December 14. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks, followed by internment. Services will be conducted by Rev. Charles Thompson and Rev. Allen Houk of First Methodist Houston.
