

Noma Jean (Bridges) Scott of Humble, Texas entered into Heavens Gates on June 28th, 2021 after a 3-month battle with illness. She was surrounded by her family as she slipped peacefully into eternal rest. Noma was born on April 19th, 1953 in Houston, Texas. She was an Honor Graduate from MacArthur High School class of 1971 in Houston, Texas and attended North Harris County Community College where she studied Accounting, Computing and Photography. She married her High School Sweetheart John Scott on July 17th, 1971. They had first met in the 5th Grade and went “steady” for a week in the 8th grade. It was just meant to be. Noma Jean (Bridges) Scott is preceded in death by her parents Robert Lamar Bridges Sr. and Mary Margaret Bridges; brother Robert Lamar Bridges Jr.. Noma is survived by her husband of 49 years, 11 months and 19 days, John Mark Scott; son Kevin Mark Scott; daughter Renee Marie (Scott) West and Husband Gary West Jr.; grandchildren Kayla Nicole Reiner and Husband Derrick Reiner, Brittany Renee Scott, Ashley West, Byron West; great-grandchildren Morgan, Kinsley, Samuel Reiner; cousin Carolyn Bannister who was raised with her as more sister than cousin along with many more nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Noma was a faithful pastor’s wife and member of Christ Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Huffman, Texas for 40 years. She was a member of the Humble/Kingwood Genealogical Society and was passionate about genealogy and research. According to verified records she is a direct descendant of Mary Chilton, the first European woman to step ashore in Plymouth Massachusetts from the Mayflower and 5 indirect relatives that were signers of the Mayflower Compact a precursor to our Constitution. She had worked in accounting, Humble ISD Transportation and church secretary. Her passion was God, People, and Family, especially those Grands and Great Grands. She loved to witness about Jesus to everyone and anyone. She loved to be around family. She loved to play the piano, she loved gospel music and loved to sing alto in church. She loved to teach Sunday School and Bible studies. She had a phenomenal talent for creating visual effects in her classroom, decorating the church, the fellowship hall, the MHS Multi-Class Reunion or the Home. She was just Awesome. She was loved by any and all who knew her and especially by her church family. She was known for her beautiful smile, her willing and compassionate listening, her readiness to pray with you and for you, her mother and Christian advice, her genuine hugs, along with her one raised eyebrow…. We all love you a bushel and a peck. She possessed the Love of Christ, the wisdom of Solomon and the patience of Job. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her but we can see her again.
