14, 1943 in Livingston, Texas to the late Elisha W.
Williams and Juanita Barnett Williams as the second
child of ten siblings. She led a full and vibrant life as
a wife to Cleveland Burrell, mother to Stacie Burrell
Jones, a brother to Lester Williams that she called son
and to others who called her mom, aunt, friend and
a child of God. She attended and praised the Lord at
the New Mount Calvery Baptist Church.
Norma was a woman of excellence that accomplished
her educational goals in numerous disciplines and
performed successfully in her various careers. She
enjoyed reading, working online word puzzles, pulling
the one arm bandits and dancing with her loving
husband.
When Norma and Cleveland danced, they glided and
turned so smooth as if there was not floor beneath
their feet for over fifty years.
She loved many and was loved by many. Her legacy
of love will live on in the hearts of those she knew and
loved and will continue from generation to generation.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Ruby and
Gwen and brothers Curtis, Cleophus, Robert and
Kelvin.
Her passing brought sadness to the hearts of all who
loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband
Cleveland Burrell, daughter Stacie Jones (Dexter),
brother/son Lester Williams (Darlene), Elisha Williams
Jr. (Joyce) and Rodney Williams (Cheryl) godchildren:
Christy Scott, Tyler Allen and god grandchildren Ariah
Hall and Tylan Sheilds and a host of nieces’ nephews,
cousins, relatives and friends.
