Norman Curtis Mounce arrived 11/5/1943 in Clifton, Bosque County, Texas, the third of four brothers. He spent his early years in Walnut Springs. His family later moved to Sweetwater, Texas where he graduated from Newman High School in 1962. He then attended Angelo State in San Angelo for several years before joining the workforce in the oil field. In 1973, he and his friend heard of good paying jobs in Houston and decided to move south, but Sweetwater was always in his heart. In 1981 he married Carolyn Stabs and spent his remaining days in the Houston area. In 2009 he retired from Norriseal Controls as a machinist. He was a fan of all sports but had a special fondness for his Dallas Cowboys and the University of Texas Longhorns.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, H. B. and Myrtle Mounce and oldest brother, Harold B. Mounce. He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Mounce, step-son Jay Trigg of Porter, grandchildren Jake Trigg of Ft. Worth and Carly Trigg of Kingwood, brothers Gerald Mounce and wife Sharon of Spring, Danny Mounce and wife Linda of Lubbock, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Cy-Fair EMS for their quick response and the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Memorial Herman Hospital at Memorial City, Emergency Room and Neuroscience ICU.
