I am so sorry but today is the first I have heard about your losses...I willalways remember you dad and mom..I loved them both.

Big Daddy,as a child I thought you were a super hero.You could do it all.You were so big and brave.I know for a fact that every single question I ever asked you got an answer.After all these years I still whistle the song from robin hood.I loved your funny voice when you would repeat to Sarah,Jackson,and I what the guard said "It's 1 o'clock and all's well!I couldn't wait until Shane was old enough to watch that movie. There are so many little happy memories like that.Thank you for just being the best biggs ever to us.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I remember Mr. Jackson as a very kind, considerate and quiet man.  Mrs. Jackson was my Sunday School teacher and those two people clearly adore each other.  Heaven has received a true gentleman into it's gates.  God will comfort the Jackson family during this difficult time.

"Uncle Leroy" I can't help but smile and laugh everytime his name comes to my mind. So many memories and terrific times when he was around. I loved my Uncle Leroy very much.

Dad, the problem with the world today is that there are so few people like you in it. You had the most pleasant, steady temperament. You never complained nor had a critical spirit. You were sacrificial and generous, even to strangers. I could go on at length describing your decency and honorable ways. But the main thing that impressed me about you was how fearless and clear headed you were in dangerous situations. As a child, I was unimpressed with the stories about the heroes at the Alamo, because I thought that all men were like you, and that being courageous in adversity was just what men did. I was never afraid when you were around. You were a true hero in all respects and will be sorely missed. Love, Sherry

How do you say goodbye--even for a short time--to the sweetest, kindest man that you have ever known?  He was a loving, kind dad that put others before himself. Towards the end, dad kept apologizing to me for the different things that I needed to help him with. I will tell all who read this, the same thing that I told him..."It's an honor".....and it truly was. 
I will see Dad again, in heaven.  I am thankful for the fact that I didn't say a "forever goodbye" on August 20.

I once went to an Astros game with Bigs and his grandson Jackson Parker and he was so much fun to be around. He provided an endless supply of good conversation and gave the entire game a feeling of nostalgia I've never forgotten.
This has always been one of my fondest Astros memories!

Oh the fun memories of the Jackson bunch coming for a visit to Alabama!  We all so looked forward to it.  We will remember good times and a very quiet, gentle spirited man that we all called "Uncle Leroy" whether he really was or not. We are honored to claim him as that!

What wonderful, happy, crazy times we had for many years when we would visit in Houston or Decatur.  Uncle Leroy was the biggest, tallest man EVER...with a heart to match!!  We here in GA are with you in spirit and know you can feel our prayers and love.

SONNY JACKSON WAS 2 YEARS OLDER THAN ME.HE WAS MY BEST FIRST COUSIN,LIKE A BROTHER AND ONE OF MY HEROS.OUR TEENAGE YEARS HE SPENT AT LEAST 6 WEEKS IN THE SUMMER AT OUR HOME IN NACOGDOCHES.WE RODE HORSES AND WORKED IN MY DAD'S WATERMELON FIELD.IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME WHEN HE HAD TO RETURN TO HIS HOME IN HOUSTON.SONNY'S FIRST CAR WAS A MODEL A FORD THAT HE REBUILT IN HIS PARENT'S BACK YARD. HE WAS ABOUT 17 YEARS OLD,AND LATER DROVE IT TO NACOGDOCHES.THAT FIRST NIGHT WE DROVE AROUND IN THAT CAR TILL NEARLY DAYLIGHT.SHORTLY AFTER TAHT HE MET ANNIE AND THEY WERE INSEPERABLE,AFTER THEY MARRIED MY FIRST WIFE AND I USE TO VISIT THEM OFTEN.NATURALLY WHEN WE MARRIED HE WAS THE BEST MAN AT THE WEDDING.HE AND ONE OF HIS FRIENDS RODE THEIR MOTORCYCLES TO THE WEDDING.I WAS ALWAYS FASCINATED BY THE CARS HE HAD.HE LIVED JUST OUTSIDE HOUSTON AND I LIVED IN NACOGDOCES BUT I COPIED NEARLY EVERYTHING HE DID,CLOTHES,TALK,THE WAY HE COMBED HIS HAIR,HIS CARS AND I ALWAYS REMEMBER HE LOOKED YOU STRAIGHT IN THE EYE.HE WAS A CHRISTIAN AND HE HAD NO VICES. My father-in-law, one of the very kindest people that I ever have known in my life - never a cross word spoken in 22 years of knowing him.  In the many mansions in Heaven, God will hopefully set aside for him a great garage with the best tools ever made. Annie and Leroy have both been a huge blessing to our family.

One of the most wonderful men I've ever known.  It is an honor to say he is my grandfather.  I love you, Bigs.

A gentle giant!!  I admired him for many reasons, but mostly for his kindness.  I will think of him in the future when I see a few things that I know he appreciated, great cars, hometown sports teams, and I will smile. Until we meet again......

I have such great memorys of when I was young and visiting my kinfolk on John Ralston road. Watching Uncle Sonny work on that old Hot Rod truck that had a loud motor and flames on the dash knobs. He always had kind words for me and I will never forget that.
