With the passing of her mother, Ola was raised in Brenham Texas by her maternal grandfather Bill Robinson.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Picket High School and later attended Colored High,
renamed Booker T. Washington, the only school for blacks in the segregated south. It was here that she acquired a love for reading. Those who knew her, understood she was an avid reader and loved the game of crosswords.
In the late 40’s, she met and married the late Wash Henderson and moved to her native land of Houston Tx. To this union she had two daughters; Sandra Cooper and Floris Perry. Upon dissolution of this union, she later met and married Maryland McGowen. To this marriage, she had a son and a daughter; Melvin McGowen and Audrey McGowen. Upon dissolution of this union, she married Luther Dennis. This union
she had Gwendolyn Dennis and Pamala Hayes. She married Marvin Glover in 1974.
In 1969, she found employment at Diagnostic Hospital and was promoted to supervisor over the environmental services department in 75.
Ola was presided in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.
She leaves to mourn: Her sister Edna Richards of Houston, Tx. 6 kids; Sandra Cooper (Joe Cooper),
Floris Perry(Ralph McDonald), Melvin McGowen(Ruth McGowen), Audrey McGowen( Orange Brown),
Pamala Hayes(Carl Hayes) Gwendolyn Dennis( Danny Booker), 11 grandkids, Terrence McClendon
( Tara McClendon) Cotrell and Myesha McClendon, Gerald, Adrian, Lakesha (Joseph Gloston) and Laquanta Perry, Xavier, Donny and Roncedria McGowen, and Demond Wilson (Monique) 13 great grandkids and 2 great great grandkids and a host of relatives nieces and friends.
