Patricia Bell Butler

Patricia Bell Butler cherished by her family and her friends, known for her kind, loving and caring soul, left this world for her heavenly home on September 22, 2024. She was born in Matador Texas on July 7, 1945 to Patrick and Ida Bell Irwin.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Clanton, son-in-Law Scott, grandchildren, Erin (Shelt’n) Betts, Alyssa Clanton, her beloved great grandchildren, Clarabelle, Elliot, Eloise and her nieces and nephews. Her departure leaves an immense void in our lives, yet there is comfort in knowing that she is with our Lord and Savior; and she is whole again.

Everyone that knew her, loved her. She was a friend to all, always smiling and encouraging. She felt that her calling was to help people. She did just that while working at Grocers Supply in Insurance Administration for over 30 years. Many people would sit across from her desk and share their hopes, fears, and sadness. She was there to listen, be a friend, hold their hand and be a confidant. She guided them through the maze of insurance and gave them one less thing to worry about. She never hesitated to serve others.

She was known by many names, ‘Patricia’, ‘Ter’ to her brothers, ‘Trish’ and ‘Trisha’ to her family, ‘Pat’ to her friends, ‘Mrs. Butler’, to Charlotte’s friends and ‘Mom’ to Charlotte. But the greatest and most treasured name was ‘Nana’. She dearly loved her granddaughters Erin and Alyssa. Pat and Charlotte lived under the same roof for all but 8 years of Charlotte’s life. A testament to Scott, her "favorite son-in-law". She was a second mother to her granddaughters. When Clarabelle, who is named after her, was born, Nana’s world lit up. They had the most beautiful relationship and I’m sure she has told each of you at least one, if not many, fun stories about Clarabelle.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Ida Bell Irwin, and her brothers Butch Irwin and Bill Irwin.
