Patricia Ann Murphy

She was born in Diboll, Texas on June 5, 1940 to parents Grady McCarty and Dorothy Audene Donahoe McCarty. Patricia was a graduate of Milby High School in 1959.

She was married to James Lloyd Murphy on May 21, 1974. They enjoyed 39 wonderful years of marriage prior to his death in 2013.

Patricia was retired from the Houston Belt and Terminal Railroad where she had worked as an executive secretary for over 40+ years.

She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, North Channel Quilt Guild, TOPS, Community Center Painting and Volunteer.

Patricia enjoyed being a grandmother, traveling, quilting, painting, and Bunko with her friends.

She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Ellis Dorrance of Crosby, Texas, four step-children: Brett Murphy, Annette Murphy, Lisa Murphy, Nancy Murphy, four grandchildren: Heather Dorrance of Sulphur, Louisiana, Ellis James Dorrance of Crosby, Texas, John Michael and Shane Mitchell of Humble, Texas, sister, Beverly Wanke of Normangee, Texas, brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Diane McCarty of Houston, and special friends of over 40 years, Carol Oliver of Houston, Texas and Jerry Smith of Huntsville, Alabama.

She was proceeded in death by her son, Michael Eugene Mitchell in 2011.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 12:30 p.m. February 13, 2018 at Brookside Funeral Home.
