Patricia Silva-Flores was born on the 8th of November, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was raised by her grandparents in Brownsville, Texas, and would often tell stories of her upbringing, always holding up her grandmother and grandfather with the upmost respect.
Patricia would leave Brownsville in pursuit of college and attend the University of Houston where she earned her Ph.D. in Education and began her career as an educator, working in all facets of the field. They were married in 1976 and had two children, Melina who was born in 1978, and Omar who was born in 1983.

Patricia would not take no for an answer when it came to an opportunity to advance the lives of one of her students. She would hold true to this philosophy throughout her time in education and up until her retirement in 2012.
Patricia would become a grandparent in 2015 with the birth of Isaac Flores and Violet Doig and again in 2017 with the birth of Victoria Doig.
