

Pauline Rose Kaluza Trefny, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 26, 2016 after a short illness. Pauline was born in Ammannsville, TX on January 19, 1933 to John and Annie Belcik Kaluza.
She attended Schulenburg High School. After graduation, Pauline moved to Houston where she worked and enjoyed city life. In 1956 she married the love of her life, Robert Trefny. They were married 58 years until his death in 2014. She retired from TransAmerica Corp in 1990. Pauline was a charter member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Blessed Trinity. Pauline was a member of the POLKofA Klub were she served as a director and Sunshine Lady.
She was also a charter member of Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum – Hoelscher Haus. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie;, her husband, Robert Trefny and daughter Susan Clark;, brothers, John, Emil, Paul, Herbert, Pete and Melvin;, sisters, Lilly, Annie, Martha, Alice, and Estelle.
She is survived by daughters Kerry and Donald Drabek; Kristy and Peter Beins; Nicole and John Wood; and son- in- law, John Clark and her grandchildren Billie and Glen Smith and their daughter Faith; Kimberley and Jimmy Walker and their children Dean and Hannah; Andrea and Colby Guice and their sons Colten and Ashton; Erin and Jeffrey Spoor and their son Hunter; Michael Drabek; Robert and Laura Wade and their son Bryan; Amanda Wade; Anna Beins; Ashley Wood and Delaney Wood. She is survived by her sister Gladys (Edward) Thurman, sisters-in-law Violet Hrachovy and Jean Trefny and brothers-in-law, Floyd (Carla) Trefny and Eugene Farek, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 6:00 with a Rosary at 7:00 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated, Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10:00 at St. Francis de Sales with internment following at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum – Hoelscher Haus or the charity of your choice.
Pauline will be remembered as a faithful woman of God, a loving wife and mother, for her service to others and her love of dancing.
Rest in Peace, good and faithful servant, you have lived the Gospel.
