

For 36 years she worked in the Children’s Department at a retail clothing store in the Oak Forest Shopping Center where she served many families and their families. She was affectionately known as “Ms. Polly”.
Polly made sure that all the special needs Scouts of Boy Scout Troop 205 celebrated their birthdays with cake, ice cream and drinks.
Her hobbies included working in her yard and making sure her roses were vibrant with color for all her neighbors to enjoy.
Polly could be found every Sunday morning in her favorite pew at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church until her recent illness. She was a devout Catholic and practiced her faith in her everyday activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Kristek, sister Mary Kristek Prasek, brother Joe Kristek, and step son Bill Walker. Polly is survived by her sons Donnie Walker, Bob Walker; sister Eleanor Kristek McCleary; nieces Shirley Fontaine and husband Will, Carrie Mikulas and husband Michael; nephews Tom Cornelius and wife Lisa, Richard Prasek; and several other great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service starting at 7:00 p.m. The Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, Houston 77018. Polly will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hallettsville alongside her parents.
A special thanks to all the nurses and staff at the Odyssey Hospice located at Cypress Station in north Houston for the loving care that was given to Polly during her final weeks.
