

Paxton Kern Keys, also known as "PK" was born on November 8, 1944 to Edward Lewis and Susie COoks in Baldwin, Louisiana. She was the oldest of eleven. Paxton attending Sanger Brown Elementary School and graduated from Willow St. High School.
She met and was married to John Gibson, to this union was born two sons and two daughters (Lindale, Ashley, Andrea, and John). She later united in marriage to George Keys, her partner until death. To this union was born three daughters (Angela, April, and Lucinda). In 1970 PK and George relocated to HOuston, Texas to raise their family.
PK had many talents and excelled at most of them. She had a deep love for flowers and would quote "Give me my flowers while I am here." PK enjoyed playing games. PK was a very loving person to her family and friends. Paxton was a very loving grandmother and great grandmother.
PK received Christ at an early age and continued her spiritual growth under the leadership of Pastor F.L. Filmore of Northland Baptist Church until her health began to fail (not fell). She was a helpful and active member, willing to accept her assignments.
Paxton is preceded in death by her parents, Husband George Keys, two brothers (Linton Cook and Edwin Lewis); two sons (Lindale and Ashley); her grandson (Emmanuel Gibson); two son-in-laws (Willie Levi and Jerry Hawkins).
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Andrea Gibson, John Gibson, Angela Keys, April Lewis (William), Lucinda Lewis and Stepdaughter Dana Guy, six sister: Stonja, Paula (William) Edna, Sandra, Edwina and Karen, four brothers: Roger (Alice), Johnell (Annie Mae) Byron and Freddie, three aunts: Tresa, Helen and Carol; one uncle: Willie; two brother -in-laws: David and Joseph, "sister -in-laws" Tina, Rosta and Mary. One Godchild: Stephanie, "Special Friends" Maru Hatchet and Olie Ross.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
