Peggy Schade, 76, of Houston, TX, stepped in to the loving arms of Jesus, peacefully, surrounded by her beloved daughter and son on February 22nd 2022 after a 1 1/2 year battle with kidney disease, and cancer. She now sits before the feet of Jesus, her beloved savior and Lord.
Peggy was born on December 8th, 1945 to Stanley and Betty Burton in Washington DC, second daughter in a family of six. After graduating from a local high school in 1963, she went on to work in the Office of Management and Budget in Washington from the Kennedy administration until the Nixon administration. It was while clearing and coordinating the legislative materials, agency testimony, legislative proposals, and other communications with Congress, in the coordination of other Presidential actions that she met and eventually married Horst Schade in 1970. From that union, they had two children, Karin, a successful vendor for retail services, and Michael, an author with a nine-novel series on Amazon.
Sadly, Horst predeceased her in August 1982. Following this event, Peggy pivoted and moved to her parent's home in Tulsa where she pursued a successful career in retail management until she retired in 2013. During this time she called to her many friends from various locations such as Wal-mart, Braum's Ice cream & dairy to QuikTrip. Everywhere she went, she spread joy and light. Sadly, her father predeceased her in 1999. One of her many friends was Retired Marine Corp General James Peterson. They communicated and spent time together until he exited life in a tragic plane accident in 2013.
On February 24th, 2014 Peggy and her son Michael, moved to Houston, Tx so she could retire in warmth in a place she always wanted to live. Welcomed by many in H-town, including those at Google, she spent her retirement at ease, pursuing her new love of online communities and sequences. Here she excelled, again spreading light and love. Even when struck with renal failure in November of 2020, she still brightened doctors and nurses during the numerous times she spent in hospitals and offices.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Robert. She is survived by her two children, her sister Betty Anne, brothers Danny, Ron, and Don, numerous grandnieces and nephews, and her wonderful friend Tim who works for Google. Graveside service is at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetary at 12800 Westheimer road in Houston, TX on March 2nd, 2022, at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Eagle Mountain International Church, a nonprofit Christian organization Claire was passionate about and helped guide her in her final dark days.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 King James Version
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
