

was born on March 21st, 1932 in Keatchie, LA to Pink and Amanda Williams Anderson. He is
the last survivor of their 14 children.
Percy’s education was limited, but he mastered the skills of construction and general labor. Through these skills, he was able to successfully and independently survive through his life’s journey.
Percy became a member of Houston New Greater Faith Baptist Church and accepted Christ. Pastor Nathaniel Andrus accepted his hand in fellowship. Pastor Andrus provided prayer and communion at his home during his transitioning period to be with the Lord.
Percy was known as RED Anderson to all. His spirit was loving, and he had a compassionate heart. Red has left humorous memories here on earth and will be remembered as the life of the party. He was charitable and was known as a great cook. Red loved gardening. He was a survivor, who could literally live off the land.
Red married Pearlie Mae and to this union 8 children were born; Percy (Joyce), Herbert, Brenda (Grady), Marilyn, Faye, Emma (Sally), Larry (Carla), and Melvin (Ruth). He later united with Mable. He was a father to Melvin (String), Lisa (deceased) and Anthony (Craig). Christine was born and became his 9th child.
Red and Leslie (Betty) were partners. Her children are Bobbie, Patty, Velda, Odel (deceased) and Spencer. He was a father, grandfather, uncle and loved by her family as well.
Red was preceded in death by his 13 siblings (Eddie Lee, Leroy, Pearl Lean, Otis-O.C., Jimmie, Earthelean,
Nancy-Shug, Azzie Lee, Mae Ruth (Betty), Pink-Jr., Ray, Earl, Viola and Travis. Red leaves behind a host of
grandchildren, neighbors and friends.
